CONNECTIONS
This book is about forging a bond with nature, finding a meaningful connection, and fostering the protection and restoration of the environment. It’s about what we gain when we take the time to sit quietly with nature in an urban setting, or when we travel to wild and remote places.
The text is a chorus of voices, naturalists, environmentalists, writers, poets, and one photographer, offering personal perspectives on nature as a source of solace, inspiration, adventure and delight. It’s about gratitude and respect.
The physical book, the way it’s put together as a box of unbound pages, is about engagement. The reader could arrange the pages in any number if ways, but all arrangements require connecting one page to another. And when they are connected in a particular way, they form a panoramic landscape image, a visual metaphor for what we can find when we make a connection.
